Hey hey hey! We closed on the new house! We did it! We were just 2 days shy of our original goal of closing in 30 days, so I consider that a win. The night of the closing, we did what any new homeowners do: We walked around and dreamed, ate pizza sitting on the kitchen countertops and just generally freaked out like, “OMG did we seriously just do that?!” We have only moved one thing from our house to the Wallace House so far: our Christmas decorations. As usual, we’ve got our priorities in check.
I have photos for you today of the whole place. This is a 113-year old, 3-story, 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath historic home. We’ve been calling it the Wallace House because it’s in a neighborhood that’s similarly named… the name has stuck. The work on this home has been done by the kick-ass construction team MB Custom Construction. If you’re in the area and need some work done on your home, check ’em out.
PHEW! I’ll share more details when we get moved in and settled. We’re moving a little bit in this weekend (mostly my monstrous basement hoard) and taking the rest slowly. We still want to keep the other house as staged for showings as possible. I think we hope to be fully in and sleeping in this house by early December. I’m already feeling the early pangs of sadness leaving our current home. I love it so much and I love the comfort we feel there. I may or may not be planning a dedication post… lol!
